development for aspiring Black filmmakers

Founded in 2019, National Black Movie Association (NBMA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization consisting of filmmakers, film stakeholders and film enthusiasts who champion Black films, advocate for diversity and inclusion in the film industry and promote equity in film education. The organization provides resources, educational opportunities, and professional development for aspiring Black filmmakers, with a primary focus on students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). To date, the National Black Movie Association has awarded over $100,000 to students, filmmakers and organizations supporting filmmaking in the Black community.
